FAST’s Tony Kelly was the big winner on the night, taking home the coveted Broker of the Year award.
Mr Kelly’s settlements and submission quality were both taken into consideration in determining the award.
Other winners on the night included Sandra Edwards, who took home Rookie of the Year and Geoff Stephenson who took home the Quality Champion of the Year award.
Smartline’s Balmain office was named Office of the Year for more than three brokers, while the Aussie franchise in Menai was named Office of the Year with less than three brokers.
Speaking about the awards, Bankwest’s NSW state manager broker sales John Rice said it was pleasing to see such a strong field of contenders.
“This year’s awards were closely fought as the field of contenders was so strong. We feel very lucky to deal with such a good group of loyal, professional and excellent brokers that have supported us through thick and thin,” he told The Adviser.
Moving forward, Mr Rice said he was hopeful Bankwest could expand its group of loyal brokers as the bank looks to enhance its processes and drastically slash turnaround times.
“We are making some changes to our back end processes at the moment with the aim of reducing our turnaround times. We believe we can and will cut the time to unconditional in half to four days within the short to medium term.”
