Stargate has launched a new consumer-focused mobile app that provides borrowers with access to their local broker and interest rate information from more than 40 lenders.

According to a Stargate statement, traditional apps provide little more than a range of mortgage calculators and advice; however, in an industry first, MortgageFinder brings together relevant product data that give the consumer real information about what mortgages are available to them.
The app, which will be officially launched on Monday, also provides the consumer with access to their local mortgage broker.
Using MortgageFinder, consumers can find the right product, choose a mortgage broker and get the perfect home loan, the statement said.
Using the unique “How much can I save” feature, a consumer can directly compare their current mortgage with over 1,000 different products and determine exactly how much money the new mortgage will save them each month.
Since MortgageFinder only lists products from lenders that are available via a mortgage broker, the user simply selects their nearest broker for more information.
Stargate Group chief executive Brett Spencer said MortgageFinder is about creating and building a local footprint for brokers.
“The digital generation don’t read the local paper nor see the local mail; they get their information from their mobile app store. MortgageFinder targets these users and enables brokers to gain access to that very specific demographic,” Mr Spencer said.
Embarking on a national TV campaign in 2013 and through an exclusive partnership with Acer computers, Mr Spencer said he expects the MortgageFinder app to reach almost one million viewers in the first 12 months.
“Partnering with Acer will see the MortgageFinder application pre-installed on Acer Windows8 computers from January 2013 onwards, resulting in hundreds of thousands of users over the next 12 months,” he said.
Brokers can register their postcode listings at www.mortgagefinder.com.au for as little as $5 per postcode per month. Those who have already registered will recieve the service for free until the end of January 2013.
