One of Australia’s non-major lenders has unveiled a new television commercial that encourages borrowers to speak to their broker.

Yesterday, Macquarie Bank launched its first television commercial to highlight the broker channel.

In the advertisement, which will run for seven weeks across all the major metropolitan channels, borrowers are told to speak with their “broker, planner or Macquarie today”.

Macquarie’s head of mortgages product James Casey said the advert, which will run for another seven weeks later this year, was designed to launch the bank's new campaign around the Macquarie mortgages offering.

“We passionately believe in the role that mortgage brokers play in the industry and we feel our campaign is a true reflection of this,” he said.

“Central to everything we do are our mortgage brokers and, crucially, communicating the value they bring to the overall mortgage proposition. One example of this, through the new campaign, is we are now providing a unique broker search functionality on our website so customers can search and locate a Macquarie-accredited broker within their postcode area, essentially making it bespoke and a more positive user-friendly experience for those seeking their next mortgage.

“We continually listen to feedback from our mortgage brokers and act upon it. In this case, we were hearing that it would help facilitate discussions with their clients if there was greater awareness of Macquarie mortgages in the marketplace.”
