Mr Nevis will also be responsible for managing a number of other strategic product relationships established by Wide Bay Australia with recognised providers.
“This is our first response in a renewed recognition of the importance of the third party channel to our business. Charlton’s appointment represents a key priority in our strategic direction as we seek to grow our home lending book across all channels,” Wide Bay Australia’s chief executive officer Martin Barrett said.
“We are also establishing a new office in Brisbane and this will be the strategic and operational centre for our third party and strategic alliances channel.
“Charlton has a significant background in financial services across several organisations, including Westpac, Bank of Queensland, Suncorp and St George. His experience covers retail banking, business banking, product management, franchisee leadership and strategic management to name a few.
“Our dedicated broker lending consultants in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast will report to Charlton.
“We also have a number of strategic product alliances, including Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (insurance), the Card Services division of Citibank (credit cards), Western Union Business Solutions and Access Prepaid Australia (foreign exchange and travel products) and Macquarie Leasing (vehicle and equipment finance for business).
“Charlton will work with our product partners to ensure we continue to meet our customers’ needs.”
