New home buyers have a further six months to take advantage of the 50 per cent cut in stamp duty on new homes priced up to $600,000 in NSW.

The NSW Housing Construction Acceleration Plan (HCAP) initiative was scheduled to end on December 31, 2009 but Premier Kristina Keneally announced on Monday that she would extend the deadline.

The Premier said that after consulting the industry and listening to the community she decided to extend the housing construction acceleration program for another six months.
