Despite signing many of the nation’s best business writers, 1300 Home Loans is still “actively recruiting brokers”, the company’s managing director John Kolenda has claimed.

Mr Kolenda also said the company has ambitions to become Australia’s largest mortgage brand with a $4 million annual marketing war chest.

"We've spoken to over 500 brokers in the past few months and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Brokers recognise that 1300 Home Loan gives them the benefits of a national, well-funded brand while being able to retain their independence," he said.

Mr Kolenda said the brokers signed so far have impressive businesses with an average loan book exceeding $105 million and average volumes of over $28 million in the last 12 months.

"Once brokers hear the 1300 Home Loan proposition, they quickly come to see the potential with one in three signing up for multiple postcodes," he said.

Brokers purchase postcodes and surrounding areas, and then receive all leads generated within their postcode as managed by a sophisticated telephony system.

Minimum criteria apply for applicants and only the nation's best brokers as measured by loan book and volume will be accepted. The broker's existing aggregator relationship does not change.
