Business sentiment for the December quarter looks bleak according to the latest Dun & Bradstreet National Business Expectations Survey released today.
Business executives expect a steep decline in sales, profit and employment growth for the last quarter of 08.
Sales and profits are expected to fall by 44 and 49 per cent respectively while a 17 year low of 23 per cent expects to have fewer staff.
Christine Christian, Dun & Bradstreet’s CEO said Australian businesses were facing “some very real challenges” although she pointed out that they were still in much better shape than those in other countries.
