Encouraging Valentine’s Day clearance rates were registered for Sydney and Melbourne however the smaller capitals delivered weaker numbers.
Of the 199 properties listed for auction in Sydney 66.4 per cent sold, Australian Property Monitors data showed today.

A similar 64.6 per cent of Melbourne properties went under the hammer, compared to just 50 per cent the week before.
Brisbane saw just 35 per cent of listed properties sell, compared to 58.1 per cent for the same weekend last year.
And in Adelaide a clearance rate of just 33.3 per cent was recorded for the 18 properties listed for auction – down considerably from the 72.5 per cent recorded for the same weekend in 2008.
