Smaller-end industrial property activity to pick up

Brokers operating in the commercial sphere could see increased interest from borrowers in industrial property.

According to Colliers International’s Industrial Market Indicator Report released last week, the smaller end of the industrial market is likely to see activity rekindle as a faltering resources sector slows down the higher end of the market.

“Private investors are increasingly returning to the market, especially in the sub $5 million sector, as yields become more attractive, prices and borrowing rates continue to fall, and competition remains thin,” Colliers director of commercial research Felice Spark said.

Ms Spark said there had also been renewed interest in tenants looking to take advantage of positive purchasing conditions to become owner-occupiers.
