A NAB survey has highlighted the challenging conditions facing small-to-medium sized businesses (SMEs) and prompted the bank to call for support of local businesses.
The NAB SME Survey for March, released yesterday, revealed that poor conditions are plaguing SMEs across every state, with the index falling 8 points to -12.

Just 19 per cent of businesses reported very good or good conditions.
SMEs in New South Wales were experiencing the worst conditions, NAB said, while those in South Australia were faring best.
“It has never been more important for Australians to rally behind their local small businesses. SMEs will appreciate the support of the general public to help them through the challenging environment they are operating in,” NAB Business executive general manager Geoff Greer said.
