Innovation is as much about simplifying processes and working smarter as it is about new products and services, Liberty Network Services has claimed.

Yesterday, The Adviser ran a news article that looked at the importance of innovation in the third party space.

ING DIRECT’s Lisa Claes told The Adviser that lender 'innovation' is important in mortgage broking, so long as it's not a euphemism for complexity.

Her comments were reinforced by Liberty Network Services' Brendan O’Donnell who said that as products become increasingly commoditised, innovation needs to shift to service.

“Service presents a very different challenge when it comes to innovation. With the launch of Liberty Network Services in early 2012, we recognised the critical importance of providing innovative solutions to meet the ever changing needs of brokers and the industry at large,” Mr O’Donnell said.

“This has resulted in the launch of our Spark broker platform that provides our advisers with significant operational and economic advantages through innovative business management processes.
