The new report – to be published in the January edition of the magazine – takes into account brokers writing commercial loans, asset finance and business finance written across the 2013/2014 financial year.
Editor of The Adviser, John Bastick, says Commercial Business Writers is an important recognition of a growing sector of the third-party channel.
"Sure, all the action's centred around residential loans over the past couple of years, but all the talk from lenders in recent times is that the 'next big thing' for brokers will be in the commercial space," he said.
"It may not be on every broker's suite of services, but increasingly it will and should be.
"For brokers not playing in the non-resi space, there can be a fair bit of confusion around it, it can appear a bit daunting, there's this idea that there's a lot of work for a loan that may not come off. But that shouldn't be the case and with lenders and aggregators getting behind commercial I think you'll continue to see many brokers strengthening their commercial offering and it having a big impact on the bottom line."
All brokers currently playing in the commercial space are urged to complete a submission here. But hurry – entries close soon.
