The number of online job advertisements has grown for the eighth time in nine months, according to the Advantage Job Index.

Formerly known as the Olivier Job Index, the Advantage Job Index surveyed 177,729 positions vacant ads on average each week on commercial job websites.

Online advertisements rose 1.59 per cent in February.

But despite the rise, Advantage professional director Robert Olivier said the highlighted growth was not significant, suggesting there is not a great depth of confidence among employers.

“White collar vacancies rose, but six of the 16 industry sectors reported a decline in job advertisements,” Mr Olivier said.
