A new study by Veda Advantage has found one in five Australians are struggling to repay their debt.

Moreover, according to Veda Advantage’s biannual Australian Debt Study, more than 80 per cent of Australians are worried about their ability to make their debt repayments over the coming 12 months.
Of the 1,042 people surveyed, one in seven Australians have missed a minimum bill repayment in the past three months – up from 12 per cent in September 2009.
Of those who had missed a repayment, one in ten are looking to take on more debt in the next six months.
"This is the highest level of debt stress in the past two and a half years of this study," a Veda Advantage spokesperson said.
