In a further sign that the Australian economy is improving, job ads are growing at the fastest rate in more than two years, according to ANZ’s job ads survey results released yesterday.

The total number of jobs advertised reached an annual growth rate of 21.7 per cent in May – the highest growth rate since February 2008.
Overall vacancies advertised have pushed to just under 168,000, up considerably on the 125,258 registered in July last year.
Western Australia has experiencied the highest level of job ads growth on the back of the mining and resources industry, with positions advertised up nearly 60 per cent from the same time last year.
