Aussie franchisees expand into new sites

A leading brand and valuable financial incentives are seeing a growing number of Aussie franchisees become multi-store operators.

The pandemic certainly isn’t proving a roadblock for Aussie franchisees, some of whom have reinvested in the brand to become multi-store operators. Jenny Pulford, an Aussie franchisee since 2009, recently partnered with her long-term store broker Aman Singh, to open a second Aussie store in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Jenny acknowledges that the midst of a pandemic may seem an unlikely time to invest in a new outlet. But in addition to 2020 being “one of our best years ever”, Jenny says the timing was right.

“Aman has been alongside me at Aussie Craigieburn for six years and was ready to take the next step to become a franchisee,” explains Jenny. “We work so well together and have so much shared knowledge, so we decided to open Aussie Melton Aussie as partners.”

Financial incentives seal the deal

According to Jenny, Aussie’s generous range of financial incentives helped seal the deal. The incentive sees $22,500 cut from the normal franchise fee, coupled with a contribution towards store fit-outs, and a special commission rate for the first 12 months*.

In addition, the program helps franchisees build their team through a Store Broker start-up incentive that spans the first six months.

“When you’re opening a new business every bit helps,” says Jenny. “But Aussie’s support really made a difference. It took the pressure off so we could focus on growing the business from day one.

“It’s not just about making the new store more affordable. With Aman now running the Melton store, I needed to bring new brokers on board in Craigieburn. Aussie’s incentive program made this easier, allowing me to help my new brokers reach their full potential sooner.”

The Aussie brand and community

Incentives aside, Jenny is clearly excited about becoming a multi-store operator.

“It is a smart business decision,” she says. “The support franchisees receive is amazing. My new brokers are just finishing their training, which is second to none – with great compliance support, so they can hit the ground running.

For Jenny, the decision to reinvest in Aussie was a no-brainer. “Frankly, Aussie is the best brand out there. I often see people walk past the store, look up at the sign and say aloud, ‘Aussie – we’ll save you’. It goes to show you can’t beat Aussie’s marketing!”

However, it’s the Aussie community that Jenny values most.

“I love that I can phone any other broker in the network and they’ll take the time to help me. This support means a lot – it shows what a true community we have, and that’s really important when you’re running your own business.”

Success is possible with Aussie

Already, both Jenny and Aman are seeing their new Aussie Melton store deliver strong results. “We’ve certainly been kept busy!”. “It’s a fantastic growth location, and one of the beauties of opening the second store is that we can apply learnings around what worked in the Craigieburn store.”

On a personal note, Jenny is deeply impressed by the opportunities Aussie has opened up for Aman. “It’s amazing to think that six years ago Aman had never written a home loan – and here he is today, a partner in an Aussie store. It goes to show that real success is possible with Aussie!”

A winning combination

Brad Cramb, Chief Sales and Distribution Officer at Aussie says, “Jenny is just one of a number of Aussie franchisees who have opted to become multi-store operators through 2020. This loyalty demonstrates the exceptional confidence our franchisees have in the Aussie brand.

“Our commitment to supporting franchisees at every stage, coupled with Aussie’s unique financial incentives are proving a winning combination that lets franchisees reinvest for sustainable growth.”
