Run with the support of principal partner NextGen, the conference’s new-look agenda is jam-packed with sessions to equip new and prospective brokers with strategies to increase their earning potential, expand their client base, and succeed in broking.
As borrowers grapple with rising interest rates and inflation and the array of lending products and technological tools grows exponentially, it is more important than ever for new and established brokers to upskill and hit the ground running.
The conference will begin with a session about why brokers are writing the majority of mortgages now, what borrowers are turning to brokers for at the moment, the benefits and perks of being a broker, and how to kick-start a career that offers uncapped earning potential.
The second session will offer a step-by-step guide on building a strong business foundation, including the different business models available, the value of and methods for finding a proficient mentor, and how and why to engage with industry bodies.
It will also explore which remuneration model brokers could choose (for example, the fees versus commission split).
Following a short break, new and established brokers will converge to hear from a broker coach about how they should be setting ambitious business and financial goals and how to achieve them.
The New Broker Academy will also unpack the building blocks needed to avoid common mistakes, key tools to establish a business model that doesn’t exhaust capital, and how to balance business activities to avoid burnout.
The leading industry speakers will reveal the fundamental business philosophies of Australia’s elite brokers, essential systems and processes for maximum efficiency, and how to create an unbreakable referral pipeline.
Finally, brokers will learn how to implement a marketing strategy on a shoestring budget, maximise return on investment, and build a strong online presence from scratch to increase visibility.
They will hear about how to convert leads into loyal clients, position themselves as experts, and implement referral marketing tactics while leveraging their existing network to win new business.
All this, plus brokers will be able to network with like-minded individuals as well as partner lenders, technology providers, associations, brokerages, and financial services groups.
Speakers include:
Association leaders: Peter White, managing director of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA), will outline why more brokers should enter the industry, what a broking career could look like, and how to get their foot in the door.
Broker coaches: Ross Le Quesne, former broker and founder of coaching company Billion Dollar Broker, will delve into how to build a high-performing brokerage from the ground up and increase commissions quickly.
Buyer’s agents: Meighan Wells, founder of Property Pursuit, will highlight how brokers could establish robust referral partnerships and win their clients’ trust to create an ongoing referral pipeline.
Marketing specialists: Darrell Weekes, founder of Purple Thread Marketing, will run through effective marketing strategies, including building a strong social media presence to increase followers and convert them into leads.
More speakers will be announced in the weeks to come.
