Nearly half of all Australians think work/life balance is attainable, but say a flexible employer is the key.

According to a Hays recruitment survey of over 1,400 people, 45.88 per cent said a work/life balance was achievable, while a further 36.59 per cent said is was up to employees themselves to make it work. Only 17.53 per cent of respondents felt that work/life balance was not attainable.
“As this survey shows, most Australians now believe work/life balance is achievable, provided they either find the right employer or they take matters into their own hands,” Hays Banking senior regional director Jane McNeil said.
“This is good news for job seekers because the recent conversations we’ve had with them shows that work/life balance has shot up their priority list. It’s replaced job security now that we’re seeing such strong job numbers,” she said.
