English interest rates held steady

The Bank of England’s (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee left rates unchanged at 5.25 per cent overnight.

Although the falling housing market is dragging on the English economy, the decision to hold rates reflects the BoE’s ongoing concerns about inflation.
