Rents are increasing at rapid rates throughout the country, with the nation’s capital now the most expensive location for renters.
RP Data yesterday revealed that lack of supply of rental accommodation had resulted in rents increasing by at least 13.5 per cent, and as much as 36 per cent in just two years.
The highest median rental rates in the nation are in Canberra at $440 per week. Darwin is close behind at $420 per week, followed by Sydney at $400 per week.
