The NSW suburb of Mosman topped the list – recording a total of 192 sales in excess of the $1 million mark.
PRDnationwide research director Aaron Maskery said Mosman remains one of Australia’s most prestigious suburbs, with 11 houses in Raglan Street and Cabramatta Road selling for $1 million-plus between April and September 2010.
“Overall, $461 million of premium housing changed hands in Mosman during that period,” Mr Maskery said.
The suburb of Brighton, south of Melbourne, came second with 127 sales over $1 million, followed by Double Bay in Sydney, which recorded 50 sales.
“The multi-million market is very attractive in Brighton and remains Victoria’s highest spend suburb with just over $283 million in premium property changing hands.”
