“AFM have from day one always looked at organic growth,” Mr Forbes told The Adviser.
“Whilst some acquisitions have taken place, our main focus has been on organic growth, and the appointment of Clint Hawthorne will be a big boost in our goal to increase volumes and continue to drive the business forward in the 2011/12 financial year.”
To assist Mr Hawthorne in his new role AFM will appoint another seven BDMs across Australia.
Mr Forbes said AFM is considering three new BDMs for NSW and one each for Queensland, WA, Melbourne and Adelaide.
“We are on the lookout for good quality business development managers who have a track record in banking and finance with a view to giving Clint the tools that he will require to build the AFM business,” Mr Forbes said.
AFM is on the panel of a number of aggregators, including PLAN Australia, FAST, Choice, Connective, Vow Financial and LoanKit.
“It is important that we have the right sales staff to be able to service these groups,” Mr Forbes said.
AFM will also be recruiting new staff in the credit services area, as and when required.
