AUSTRAC yesterday announced the launch of a series of publications to assist industry stakeholders interpret the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act).
The series commenced with the launch of the Establishment of the AUSTRAC Public Legal Interpretations; six additional publications will be released throughout the year.

Topics will include registration as an ‘alternative remittance’ provider, suspect transactions and suspicious matter reports.
AUSTRAC chief executive Neil Jensen said the series would help to address some of the more complex questions arising for reporting entities following the introduction of the AML/CTF reforms.
