Business growth down to client focus

Brokers complaining about a lack of opportunities do not have the right business platforms in place, Liberty’s Brendan O’Donnell has claimed.

Speaking to The Adviser, Mr O’Donnell said while the market is undoubtedly tough at the moment, there are still business opportunities out there for brokers who play their cards right.

“We all know the market is subdued at the moment, we are currently experiencing single digit growth – something we haven’t seen in more than a decade,” he says.

“That said, brokers that go back to basics and refocus on what they should always focus on – their clients – are doing very well in their business at the moment.”

Mr O’Donnell said brokers should stop trying to control what they can’t control and focus on areas they can.

“Call your clients, focus on rebuilding relationships and you will find business opportunities will knock on the door.

“There are still buyers out there looking for a house, an investment property or simply looking to refinance their existing mortgage.”
