Auction clearance rates showed a small recovery in some capitals, but a large drop from Brisbane caused the national average to come crashing down.

It was a fairly slow auction weekend, with the value of all properties sold in Sydney and Melbourne almost halved, however both had improved clearance rates.

Sydney was up by one per cent and Melbourne’s clearance rate rose by 1.4 per cent.

After a particularly poor week last weekend, Adelaide rose 16.3 per cent.

But the average across the capitals was down by 0.4 per cent due to a large drop from Brisbane of 20.4 per cent compared to last week.
