Speaking at the aggregator’s PD day in Sydney yesterday, Mr O’Toole said while FAST has never been one to aggressively recruit brokers, preferring instead to rely on broker referrals to grow broker numbers, that is all about to change.
“The fact of the matter is aggregator margins are under pressure. And while we have never been one to actively seek out brokers, I can guarantee that you will all see a lot more of us in the market place over the coming months,” he said.
“We plan to ramp up our advertising and our communication methods to ensure brokers know about us and our service proposition.”
But while Mr O’Toole said the company was planning to get “aggressive” when it comes to recruitment, he was quick to say the aggregator had no plans to change its overall business philosophy.
“The types of brokers we have always looked to attract will not change,” he said.
“We want brokers, but we want brokers who are established, well educated and solid business writers.”
