The awards, which represent B2B, custom, niche and mass consumer magazine publishers across Australia, were held at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney on Friday night.
More than 400 guests attended the Excellence Awards gala dinner which was MC’d by comedian Adam Spencer.
The Adviser was the big winner on the night taking home the B2B Magazine of the Year, Integrated Media Brand of the Year and the 2012 Excellence Award.
In addition, the magazine’s head designer, Dan Williams, took home B2B Designer of the Year, while editor Jessica Darnbrough took home Editor of the Year (below 20k circ).
Speaking about the awards, publisher Jim Hall said he was humbled by the experience.
“It is great to have all our hard work rewarded,” he said.
“More importantly, it is great to be recognised at such a prestigious event. Everything we have done over the last several years has been with our end reader in mind and that passion to our trade is now paying dividends.”
Editor Jessica Darnbrough said it was wonderful not only to be recognised as Editor of the Year, but to have the whole team receive well deserved accolades on the day.
“What a wonderful way to end a very successful year. Everyone at The Adviser works diligently and it is great to be recognised at a national level.”
