The annual World Wealth Report released by Merrill Lynch yesterday has revealed the number of wealthy Australians grew by 11,000 in 2007.
Australia currently has 172,000 individuals who own at least $1 million in net assets – excluding their primary residence. Combined their wealth totals over $578 billion.

On a global scale Australia’s 7.1 per cent growth in wealthy individuals was dwarfed by India, which grew by 22.7 per cent, and China’s 20.3 per cent.
