Research conducted by CreditCardFinder.com.au found 84 per cent of Australians acknowledged wanting to be more aware about their finances.
According to a survey of more than 1,000 Australians, 82.8 per cent of respondents believe that making a budget and sticking to it is the only way to achieve financial success.
Only 5.8 per cent believe that a personal finance comparison website can help their financial situation.
CreditCardFinder.com.au publisher Jeremy Cabral said it was important for Australians to compare their rates on a regular basis across all of their financial products to see if they could possibly get a better deal.
“Savvy spenders are those that regularly compare finance products on the market, seek a better deal, switch and save money in the process,” he said. “They research their options and continually do this to ensure they are getting the most bang for their buck.”
