Home loan applications rose in the United States for the third week in a row, the Mortgage Bankers Association said yesterday.
The Market Composite Index, the association’s measure of mortgage loan application volume, was 522.2 in the week ended 11 July – an increase of 1.7 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from the week earlier.

The rise in applications was driven by an increase in weekly refinancing activity; the group’s refinancing index climbed by 6.9 per cent.
