Westpac has taken out the Canstar Cannex National First Home Buyer Award for its strong range of products and support for first home buyers.
The lender took out the award ahead of 115 other lenders who were assessed on a range of criteria, including the education material offered, processes involved and the level of access to a real person.

Canstar Cannex said Westpac “ticked all the boxes” and came up trumps in every state and territory except for Canberra and South Australia where St George and BankSA took out the awards respectively.
“They were a very convincing national winner,” Canstar Cannex said today.
“Particularly impressive were Westpac’s loan products designed for first home buyers and incorporating discounted application fees.”
Credit unions dominated the non-bank awards for the first home buyer market: NSW Teachers Credit Union took out the top ranking in NSW, Queensland Teachers Credit Union in Queensland and Resi Mortgage Corp took out the top place in Victoria.
