Burgeoning non-major lender, Wide Bay Australia, has answered demand from the communities it operates in by announcing a new community grants scheme.
Launched this week, Wide Bay's ‘Our Community’ Grants Scheme will provide an avenue for non-profit groups to apply for funding and sponsorship to support their community events and initiatives.

Wide Bay operates branches throughout Queensland and will give preference to projects that aim to provide ongoing development to communities in its core regions or within a 50-kilometre radius of its branch locations.
Carly Ryder, Wide Bay’s community relations specialist, said it was important to distribute funds in a fair and equitable manner.
“‘Our Community’ Grants Scheme allows us to do this and to focus on supporting communities to celebrate their sense of community, develop the skills and build the capacity and capability necessary to enhance the lives of those living and working in the local area in which we work,” she said.
