"The sooner you start working, the higher the likelihood that you'll speak to more people," he said.
"For me, being part of 'the 5am club' is just a healthy way both physically and mentally to ensure that you get the most out of the day and don't just try to get through it."
Mr Panos will be one of the keynote speakers at the 2015 Better Business Summit, which will visit Melbourne on February 19, Adelaide on February 26, Sydney on March 5, Brisbane on March 12 and Perth on March 19.
Mr Panos said brokers who start their day at 5am should include exercise in their early morning routine.
"If you're a broker and you're starting at 5am, I think it's important that you include exercise, because as a broker you can go from the heights of exhilaration to the depths of depression in 24 hours," he said.
"For instance, you may think you've got a couple of deals on the way, and then they fall through. Energy is your antivirus to handling the highs and lows of writing loans."
Mr Panos said he has noticed that a lot of successful business people start their day early and operate as a "corporate athlete".
"By the time they get to work, they've planned their day, they've done a little bit of physical exercise, they've completed their to-do list, and what they're doing is improving their probability of having a great business day.
"If you do an audit of how productive you are between 9pm and midnight versus 5am to 8am, I think you'll find that starting early is far more dollar-productive and more conducive to wellbeing and success than staying up late at night."
