A former captain of the Port Adelaide Power AFL team has been recognised as the industry’s best new broker by Australia’s largest aggregator.

Domenic Cassisi, managing director of Funding Options in Adelaide, was presented with the Rising Star Award recently at AFG’s High Achievers Gala Dinner. The award is based on the volumes of business written by a new mortgage broker for 2014-15.

AFG state manager Alan Walker said Mr Cassisi’s impressive results are a testament to the fact that he has been able to bring his leadership skills from the footy field to the mortgage industry.

“Having only commenced finance broking a year ago, Dom has enjoyed a stellar rise, fast becoming one of the industry’s fastest-growing mortgage brokers,” he said.

“With Dom’s impressive results to date, we’re sure he’ll continue to lead the way.”

Mr Cassisi said he is thrilled with his success at what is a buoyant and dynamic time for the industry.

“I’m really honoured to receive this award, up against some tough opposition. The transition from full-time football to finance has been a rewarding experience,” he said.

“Helping my clients navigate through one of the most important decisions they will make to find the right solution to meet their individual needs is really satisfying.”
