Indeed, with the industry having grown and increased in professionalism, the awards reflect the evolution and maturation of the third-party distribution channel.
This year, the awards will include brand new categories, such as: ‘Industry Thought Leader of the Year’, which recognises the individual within the Australian broking market that has shown a long-term passion and aptitude for improving the industry and is based on the period from 1 July 2015 – 30 June 2016.
Following broker demand to expand the criteria for ‘Consumer Marketing of the Year’ to include individuals, as well as broker groups, this award has evolved to be ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’.
The marketing award this year recognises the broker group or individual broker that has undertaken the best marketing campaign in Australia over 2016 (from the period 1 July 2015 – 30 June 2016).
Building on some of the award categories from the state-based Better Business Awards, the ABAs will award 2017's Residential Broker of the Year, Finance Broker of the Year, Commercial Broker of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Regional Broker of the Year, amongst other categories.
Submissions have been flooding in already for the 26 ABA categories, so ensure you get your submissions in before the closing date of Friday, 21 April.
