Mr Lawler, who will officially finish up in his role on 17 June, has said no-one will replace him in this position once he leaves.
Instead, the NAB Partnerships business, which comprises of NAB Broker and Advantedge, will be joined by UBank to form a “portfolio of growth businesses”.
Mr Lawler said by building on the combined strengths of these businesses, the new division will have the ability to continue to grow in an unconstrained environment and capitalise on future growth opportunities for the bank.
An executive general manager for this new portfolio of “growth” businesses will be appointed in due course and the expression of interest process is underway.
“Having led this business for just over three years now, it is satisfying for me to reflect on what has been achieved over that time,” Mr Lawler said.
“The journey to get to this point has been hard at times but the business is in much better shape than when I started which is what I set out to do. The fact the business now has a strong future and is an integral part of NAB's strategy is one of my most exciting achievements.
“The acquisition of Advantedge, a terrific business with capable and talented leaders was an important milestone and I have no doubt this business combined with NAB Broker will allow NAB to play a major role in the industry for many years to come.”
