Looking at the world through rose coloured glasses can be difficult at times but Victoria Coster believes positivity flows from herself to her credit repair business team and ultimately onto their clients and relationships with referral partners.
When I started Credit Fix Solutions out of my son’s bedroom in my housing commission flat eight years ago I was determined to do well and over the years I have built a terrific team around myself.
A positive outlook is essential to any good business and my positive leadership is backed up by the way we conduct business on a weekly basis.
We have regular meetings and I ensure that I provide my team with both motivational and inspirational learnings and messages. We watch videos and have guest speakers, it’s an essential part of our business.
We have a clear vision for Credit Fix Solutions and have developed a credo, which is based on our values of help, learn and grow.
The credo is designed to help everyone in the business. It is laminated and sits on their desk, and if they don’t have an answer to a question that a client is asking, they refer to the credo which usually has the answer.
As well as ‘help, learn, grow’ the credo also includes, ‘honesty’ as well as ‘what we do says what we are’ and ‘we sweat the small stuff’.
The credo was developed by the whole team over an extended period of time. We discussed our personal values and the values of the business. It is important that you have a real connection between your business and personal values because it creates, passion, drive and motivation. You can upskill and train anyone but if they don’t have those personal values that align with the business values, your staff and clients won’t connect with the business.
At Credit Fix Solutions we aren’t just here to fix credit, we are here to change people’s lives.
We produced 60 second videos about all our team as it is important for people to see the human side of the business. We share who everyone is, what they do and what they love about their job. We are trying to break the disconnection that the internet has created.
We are also constantly reviewing. I review every aspect of our business every 90 days and I ensure that every team member is part of the process. It’s important regardless of the size of your team to have regular meetings and catch ups. This helps people feel valued. It helps your business and enables a feeling of belonging, connection and care factor which is so important in fostering repeat business.
Investing in systems and processes is also essential to stay on top of workload and you should start the year by writing down all the things that you do. You can then see if there are areas that you can outsource or automate.
Many people make the mistake of thinking that they can do it all, but it is easy to spread yourself too thin and focus on areas that aren’t essential to your bottom line. By taking a positive approach you can create the perfect work/life balance and ultimately that is better for business and the world we live in.
