The bank also took out the awards for Savings Institution of the Year and best Balance Transfer Credit Card.
Bankwest retail chief executive Vittoria Shortt said the awards formally recognised Bankwest's unrelenting focus on innovative products and excellent customer service.
"We are very proud to have been awarded the AFR Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards 2010 Bank of the Year," Ms Shortt said.
"This shows just how competitive our products are, and how our Happy Banking philosophy is having a real impact on customers' experiences.
The second tier lender called in a marching band on Friday morning to celebrate the company’s win.
Meanwhile, HSBC took out the Home Loan lender of the year award.
