Ms Ryan has extensive experience in the lending space, including more than seven years at Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) and international financial services experience having worked with US Bancorp and Wells Fargo in the US.
She was most recently the chief lending officer at the professional administrator of the Queensland government’s loans and grants, the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).
In her previous role, Ms Ryan was responsible for QRIDA’s COVID-19-response business loan support and grant programs.
The new GM of business banking began on 16 May 2022, and has been appointed as P&N Group looks to grow its business banking presence, and grow its national presence and footprint both organically and through future partnerships following its merger with bcu.
P&N Group chief executive Andrew Hadley said a “dedicated and reinvigorated focus” on business banking was a key part of the group’s strategy.
“Following an extensive nation-wide search, I’m thrilled to welcome Jacqueline to the vacant role of general manager, business banking,” he said, noting her “extensive background in business banking gained both in Australia and overseas”.
“Jacqueline’s strengths lie in her understanding of risk and governance management within the business banking space, building relationships and stakeholder management at a senior executive level, and engaging and building successful and high performing teams.
“I’m very pleased that Jacqueline has chosen to take the next step in her career with us and welcome her as part of our leadership team.”
Speaking of her new position at P&N Group, Ms Ryan commented: “I am looking forward to working in the customer-owned financial services space for an organisation that truly has its customers at the heart of everything it does and I am excited at the opportunity to make a difference in the group’s business banking business.
“Business banking will play an increasingly important role in delivering on the group’s strategy and supporting its purpose to enrich the lives of our customers and their communities.”
P&N Group has welcomed several new appointments recently, including its first general manager, broker.
In January of this year, the customer-owned banking group announced the appointment of Kaine Adamson – its former senior manager for retail distribution – to the newly created position of general manager, broker.
Mr Adamson has been tasked with fulfiling the group’s “ambitious plans” to “transform” its broker offering.
He will lead the group’s five-year strategy to “transform” the broker offering, with major investment being prioritised over the next 12 months.
