On Tuesday (2 April), Thinktank’s general manager of partnerships and distribution Vala stepped into the newly created role of general manager of growth and strategy.
Vala, who had led the sales team for more than a decade, will now focus on enhancing executive-level relationships with “key distribution partners” and play a pivotal role in “shaping strategic direction” while leading initiatives that align with the lender’s “growth objectives”.
Given the change in his role, Belinda Wright has been named as the new head of partnerships and distribution.
Wright, who joined Thinktank in 2021 and spearheaded the expansion of the lender’s residential sales arm, will now be leading both the commercial and residential arms of the sales team.
She already has more than 20 years of experience in finance and banking, having served as the head of customer segments at Westpac and the executive manager of performance and partnerships of mortgage broker distribution at Westpac Group.
Announcing the leadership changes, Jonathan Street, Thinktank’s chief executive, commented: “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to Pete for his remarkable leadership over the past 10 and a half years in building the business of Thinktank to what it is today.
“I am also delighted in congratulating Belinda while taking a moment to acknowledge the passion and dedication she has brought to the business.
“These new appointments mark the first significant shift in leadership in over a decade and everyone in the organisation is genuinely excited by what lies ahead.”
Wright commented: “I am honoured and excited to lead the sales team during this transformative period.
“I look forward to building on the strong foundation laid by Pete and continuing to drive our success in partnership with our valued distribution networks.”
The announcement came after Thinktank appointed Nathan McMullen as the general manager of risk in February.
