AMP appoints first national manager for business finance

by Annie Kane10 minute read

The non-major bank has hired its first national manager to look after its business finance loan for brokers and advisers.

AMP Bank has announced that Danielle Main, its Victoria-based area manager, has been appointed as the bank’s inaugural national manager for business finance.

The new position was created to look after AMP Bank’s loan offering for brokers and advisers, the Business Finance Loan, which was launched last year.

In her new role, Main will lead the business finance team, which enables brokers and advisers to acquire or merge businesses with their current and/or future ongoing recurring revenue (such as trail) as security, so they can grow their business. The product also enables brokers/advisers to refinance loans from other lenders, make equity purchases, or undertake business enhancements, such as fitouts.

The new national manager for business finance has more than 24 years of experience working in the banking and finance industry across Australia, including more than nine years at NAB working alongside mortgage brokers and financial planners as a sales manager for Advantedge and MLC Mortgage Solutions; seven years at Macquarie Group as a business development manager and lending consultant; and was once herself a licensed mortgage broker.

Main has been with AMP Bank for the past five years and was most recently the area manager, southern region.

She started her new role as national manager for business finance on 1 May.

Paul Herbert, AMP Bank’s newly appointed head of lending and everyday banking distribution, said: “Danielle brings a strong commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial growth and has helped design and implement mortgage solutions for clients to ensure best client outcomes.

“I am very excited to see her flourish in this role and deliver outstanding experiences for brokers in our network.”

AMP Bank also noted Main’s passion for “building and leading teams as well as fostering an environment where individuals can grow and thrive”.

Speaking of her new role, she said: “I’m excited to be leading business finance at AMP Bank to enable mortgage brokers and financial planners to borrow against current and future business equity with our Business Finance Loan.

“With a family history of owning and running small to medium businesses, I’m passionate about working closely with business owners to help unlock what is important to them – be that through financial security, independence or growth.

“Supporting the industry and helping brokers and financial planners achieve their business goals, whether that be for succession planning, mergers or acquisition, is something I find personally rewarding.

“There’s a real opportunity for us to innovate in the market and I’m excited to continue to support the industry to deliver the best outcomes for clients.”
