A spokesperson from the bank confirmed that Fedder has now transitioned into a permanent role after having been working in the position on acting basis for the last six months.
Fedder first joined Suncorp Bank in 2020, when he started as the bank’s new head of broker partnerships (a newly created position at the time).
He joined Suncorp from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), where he held the role of national executive manager, strategic partnerships, third-party banking, and was the executive manager, home buying strategic portfolio management prior to that.
Fedder has held an array of executive positions within the banking and financial services industry in a career spanning just under two decades.
Rush said on his appointment: “Troy has done an incredible job of leading our wider home lending business over the past six months and this appointment is well deserved.
“I have no doubt that Troy will continue to deliver great outcomes for our brokers and customers.”
Additionally, Fedder stated that he “loved being able to lead the wider home lending business for Suncorp Bank” and expressed excitement for the “opportunity to continue to do so on a permanent basis”.
“We see brokers and aggregator partners as critical to our future success. I look forward to continuing to be actively involved across the industry,” he said.
Rush confirmed that Shane Davis will continue to act in the head of broker partnerships role while the bank works through the next steps throughout this process.
Davis took over the role of head of broker partnerships after Fedder was appointed the acting EGM role in November last year.
Fedder commented at the time that Davis is “well-known and regarded for his role as state manager for Queensland, which he’s held for over a decade”.
Jeannette Rowland will continue to report to Fedder in her role as national partnership manager.
This comes as Rush took over the role of CEO of Suncorp Bank as of 4 December 2023 following the departure of former CEO Clive van Horen and had joined Suncorp bank in 2010, holding various senior leadership roles during this time.
