The appointment follows moves to help the non-bank better serve its broker partners.

Thinktank has announced the appointment of Tony Maroun as new regional sales executive for the northern region, comprising NSW/ACT, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

Maroun will report to Belinda Wright, head of partnerships and distribution, who stepped into the role after Peter Vala took up the newly created general manager of growth and strategy position earlier this year.

Wright said Maroun’s appointment follows a recent realignment of the sales team to help the non-bank lender better serve its broker partners.

“We’re thrilled to have Tony join and lead the team,” Wright said.

“His wealth of experience and proven leadership will be instrumental in driving our growth strategy in the Northern Region. Tony’s ability to inspire and lead teams to achieve outstanding results aligns perfectly with our culture and vision for the future.”

Maroun brings more than 20 years’ experience to the regional sales executive role, including business banking, commercial lending, and third-party distribution.

His resume boasts stints at majors Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) and National Australia Bank (NAB), where he held roles such as area manager for NSW premium broker and commercial broker and state manager for commercial broker NSW/ACT.

“In recent years, Thinktank has strategically assembled a diverse and highly experienced group of professionals,” Maroun said.

“Together, we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of product innovation, deepening and strengthening partnerships, and delivering outstanding service that not only meets but exceeds the evolving needs of brokers and their clients.”

The appointment is the latest in a number of moves from the non-bank lender to help brokers, including the Premium Partnership initiative headed by lending executive Emma Yang.

“Our goal is to empower brokers to not only meet but exceed the expectations of their clients within specific market segments,” Vala said at the time.
