Leckie has extensive experience in the broker channel and spent nearly a decade at major brokerage brand Aussie (now part of the Lendi Group) where she most recently served as head of retail for Queensland, leading staff across 54 retail stores.
Prior to that, she served as head of mobile for Queensland, NSW, and the ACT, leading a team of eight sales leaders, with a network of more than 200 brokers.
While at Aussie, she also held roles as a business leader for north Brisbane and as a mobile business leader for Brisbane.
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia-owned lender welcomed the new leader and said Leckie had gained extensive broker knowledge and experience in leadership, coaching, and development in roles ranging from recruitment to sales management and senior leadership.
Bankwest general manager of third party, lan Rakhit, said: “Laura’s appointment reflects our commitment to our critical broker network and our focus on ensuring human to human support for brokers in moments that matter.
“Bankwest aspires to be Australia’s favourite digital bank and best broker bank, and we’ll continue to invest in our people and solutions that will enable us to better support brokers into the future.
“With the appointment of Laura, | look forward to building on how we continue to meet changing broker and customer needs, so brokers can provide the best possible experience for more customers across Australia.”
