Pepper Money becomes Wests Tigers major sponsor

by Annie Kane12 minute read

The non-bank lender will be the club’s major sponsor for the next three seasons in a multimillion-dollar deal.

Pepper Money has become the major sponsor of the Sydney-based rugby league club Wests Tigers, in what is being billed as the largest deal in the club’s history.

While the commercial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, it has been confirmed that it is a multimillion-dollar contract that covers three years. The sponsorship will officially commence at the start of the 2025 season.

Under the agreement, Pepper Money’s logo will be displayed on the front of both the team jerseys for both the men and women’s team jerseys. Pepper Money will also appear on Wests Tigers’ media backdrop at all Wests Tigers NRL and NRLW home games in 2025.

The non-bank lender – which has been a sponsor of the club for the past two years – will maintain its prominent presence on the Wests Tigers’ NRL and NRLW coaching apparel (worn by NRL head coach Benji Marshall and NRLW head coach Brett Kimmorley, along with their assistants) and coaches’ box.

Pepper Money CEO Mario Rehayem said: “We are incredibly proud to partner with Wests Tigers to become the club’s new major partner for the next three seasons.

“Our shared passion for community engagement will be a key focus of our work with West Tigers across the next three years. This commitment is further strengthened by our partnership with the club’s community arm, Wests Tigers Empower.

“We see a bright future ahead for the Wests Tigers, just as we do for our customers. Pepper Money is in the business of helping people to succeed, which is at the core of our mission. We’re proud to be a part of both the Tigers’ and our customers’ success stories.”

Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson said the partnership marks the biggest sponsorship deal in the club’s 25-year history.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Pepper Money as our new major partner, and this is a great day in the history of this club. “Not only is this new partnership the biggest deal we have ever done, but it is also a whole-of-club sponsorship incorporating both our NRL and NRLW teams,” he said.

“Pepper Money is a leader in the non-bank industry, providing opportunity and value to Aussies that require a real-life approach to their lending needs. In many ways we are well aligned; with a large customer base across Sydney’s Inner West and South-West, Pepper Money, much like the Wests Tigers, is committed to promoting and supporting the community and promoting inclusivity.

“Wests Tigers now has one of the most divergent and prestigious portfolios of sponsors in the NRL and we look forward to strengthening this relationship in the years to come.”

Earlier this year, Pepper Money hosted an exclusive event for brokers at the Wests Tigers ground where NRL legend and Wests Tigers head coach Marshall and NRLW head coach Kimmorley shared stories on leadership, maintaining a positive mindset, the importance of family, and self-belief with brokers.

Pepper has said that brokers will continue to have access to exclusive industry events and activations planned throughout the partnership.
