MONEYME reports 27% growth in originations in 1Q25

by Will Paige8 minute read

Growing demand for car loans has spearheaded growth at the lender, which has now originated more than $4 billion in loans.

MONEYME has reported “strong quarterly growth” in a trading update as personal loan demand continues to pick up.

According to the ASX-listed lender, new originations increased 27 per cent to $221 million for the first quarter of the 2025 financial year (1Q25), up from $171 million the previous quarter. This was primarily driven by car loans and the success of its secured car loan product, Autopay, which comprises 58 per cent of its loan book.

The completion of a $517.5 million auto loan ABS deal earlier this month freed up capacity within MONEYME’s Autopay warehouse and supported the continued growth of the product, the lender claimed.

The non-bank also revealed it had originated more than $4 billion in loans, which it described as a “major lending milestone”. The lender clarified that lifetime originations include around $1 billion in loans originated by SocietyOne prior to the acquisition and over $3 billion generated through its proprietary lending platform, Horizon.

MONEYME CEO, managing director and co-founder Clayton Howes said: “Surpassing $4 billion in originations is a testament to the strength of our product offering, our vision and our ability to execute effectively through any macro environment.

“The surge in Autopay originations shows that our efforts to create a better end-to-end car finance experience through innovation and AI are resonating with customers and partners. Our recent $517.5 million ABS deal not only frees up capital to keep scaling Autopay but also demonstrates strong interest from both domestic and international investors in our securitisation programs,” Howes said.

“Looking ahead, we remain committed to building a bigger, more resilient business with secured assets at the core of our strategy. It’s an exciting time for MONEYME as we continue to build momentum in our core markets – car loans, personal loans, and credit cards.”
