The non-major bank is set to welcome NAB’s former EGM for business everyday banking as its new head of retail.
ING Australia has announced that it will welcome Jennifer Davies as its head of retail, effective 1 May.
Davies – who was most recently the executive general manager, business everyday banking at National Australia Bank (NAB) – has more than four years of banking experience at NAB and more than a decade of experience in transformation and strategic planning.
Prior to entering the banking space, Davies was a partner at global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, with ING noting her work leading “numerous large-scale transformations across B2C and B2B organisations, focused on delivering sustainable commercial results”.
She will take responsibility for ING’s retail bank next month, taking over from Andras Hámori, who had been in the role since 2021 but has now moved to become CEO of OTP banka in Slovenia.
Commenting on her appointment, the lender said Davies had a “strong track record of elevating the customer experience, driving market share and effectively managing risk”.
ING Australia CEO Melanie Evans said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jennifer to ING. She brings a wealth of experience across a broad range of industries and a proven track record as a customer-focused leader.
“This is an exciting time for us as we continue to grow at pace and scale our impact. Jen’s commitment to innovation, strategic thinking and record of delivering outstanding results make her the right person to lead our retail business into the future.”
Speaking of her upcoming role as ING Australia’s head of retail bank, Davies said: “I’m thrilled to be joining a bank renowned for their exceptional digital banking experience.
“Additionally, ING is a brand that people truly love – the energy, ambition and commitment to putting customers first is something I’ve admired from the outside for a long time.
“I’m excited to help shape the next chapter of retail banking here – one that continues to challenge the status quo, deliver innovative experiences and make banking better for more people everyday.”
