Demand for employees in the banking and finance sector continued to decline in March, according to the Olivier Job Index released yesterday.
The index recorded a 3.78 per cent fall in demand in the finance and banking sector, seasonally adjusted, compared to 0.72 per cent positive growth for the nation as a whole.

Demand for employees in retail banking and mortgages (a sub-sector of finance and banking) fell by 4.6 per cent over the month, resulting in an annual change of negative 15.5 per cent – the worst annual result of all financial sectors.
