Clive Kirkpatrick, who has more than 25 years experience in banking and financial services, will officially join the team on 17 October.
Most recently, Mr Kirkpatrick held the role of head of franchise at RAMS and he was also head of third part distribution when the non-bank distributed via the broker channel.
Speaking to The Adviser Mr Kirkpatrick said that he was looking forward to the new role.
"This is an exciting opportunity for me. I have considerable experience in the third party channel and I'm looking forward to the new challenge with St George," he said.
"St George's third party business is very important to the bank. With the launch of the Bank of Melbourne and the established Bank SA and St George brands there is considerable scope for us to grow the business under the multi-brand strategy," he said.
St George Banking Group general manager third party distribution Melos Sulicich said he was pleased to welcome such a seasoned professional to the team.
“Clive’s extensive experience in the financial services sector industry and intimate knowledge of intermediary channels will bring tremendous opportunities for the St George business,” he said.
“Our mortgage broker business is integral to the success of our business and it is an area where we will continue to invest in improving our products and services and building strong relationships with our business partners. Clive is well positioned to take our intermediary business to the next level of growth.”
The St George banking group includes St George Bank, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA. Mr Kirkpatrick will have national responsibility for the mortgage broker business for all of these brands.
