With the nation’s lenders coming under the spotlight now more than ever, the Australian Lending Awards provide a timely snapshot of which lenders are delivering Australians the best lending options, according to The Adviser’s group publisher Alex Whitlock.
“The lending landscape has changed more in the last 10 months than it has in the last 10 years. A price war is raging, borrowers can now switch lenders without penalty and the banks have broken ranks with the RBA’s cash rate in pricing their products.
“Choosing a home loan is a more complex business than it ever was and borrowers are increasingly looking for guidance as to which institutions lead the field across all channels of mortgage lending.
“With this in mind, recognition of the institutions that are best meeting the needs of the borrower has never been more important. The most rigorous industry awards in Australia, the Australian Lending Awards, will help clarify exactly who the leading lenders are.”
The Australian Lending Awards recognise the nation's leading lenders across product, innovation and commitment to the mortgage industry. This year’s 14 award categories include Best First Home Buyer Lender, Best Investor Lender, Best Self-Employed Lender and the highly coveted Lender of the Year.
The Australian Mortgage Awards are the only research-based industry awards in the country, says RFi director Alan Shields.
“The Australian Lending Awards take into account the opinions of 5,000 borrowers and close to 500 mortgage brokers and are based on the actual experience that consumers and brokers have of lenders in the market,” he says.
“In addition, finalists are requested to participate in a panel interview with judges, giving them the opportunity to offer further information on their submission and articulate their business' successes and drivers.”
